Do you want to reduce your carbon impact with sustainable heating and hot water for your home or business in East Yorkshire? Heat pumps are a renewable energy source which can provide longer-lasting heat and hot water to reduce your energy bills and provide a low-carbon heating solution, so contact Go Greener Energy Services today and we can use our expertise to help you make the switch from a traditional gas boiler.

What is a heat pump?

A heat pump is a means of providing heat and hot water using sustainable sources; the air or the ground. Instead of using fossil fuels to produce heat, heat pumps only use sustainable electricity and work much more efficiently than traditional gas boilers. Heat pumps generate a more comfortable heat that is more easily maintained over the course of the day, and hence heats the home or business using much less energy than a gas boiler. You can also store hot water that is generated overnight on cheaper electricity tariffs.

There are two main types of heat pump commonly available:

  • Air source heat pumps – An air source heat pump extracts air from outside, even in cold conditions, and uses a refrigerant to convert it into a liquid and then heat and hot water, which can be delivered to storage or to radiators.
  • Ground source heat pumps – As the name suggests, ground source heat pumps extract heat from the ground and use a similar heat transfer process to produce heat which can be stored or used around the home or business
